From today, visitors to the La Motte wine estate in Franschhoek will be greeted by The Wine Bearer, a four-meter high bronze sculpture, situated at the top of the drive into La Motte. The 560kg sculpture of a woman holding a goblet was made by sculptor Toby Megaw. The photo above is of me and Toby minutes after the sculpture had been bolted into place.
