Moving to Lighter Bottles

In keeping with South Africa’s status as one of the most eco-progressive winemaking nations, Leopard’s Leap Wines has decided to start introducing lighter wine bottles into our collections to help off-set our carbon footprint.

The 750ml screwcap wine bottles weigh a mere 350g – as opposed to 500g for traditional wine bottles – and are being introduced into the market this year.

We will begin by introducing the light weight bottles into our Classic Collection and our Lookout range (for the UK Market only). Incidentally, the 370g bottle that we’ll be moving over to is currently the lightest wine bottle in the market and won the prestigious 2009 Sustainability Trophy at the annual Institute of Packaging SA (IPSA) Gold Pack Award.

This new announcement is in keeping with our objective of being an eco-conscious wine brand and is another opportunity for us to do our best to limit our impact on our environment.
