During my tour of the Rhone valley with Edmund Terblanche and Eugene Van Zyl, respectively the La Motte and Leopard’s Leap winemakers, we spent two hours tasting with Bernard Guraud, one of the best Cote Rotie Shiraz producers. Our tasting led us to one barrel that we believe to be a classic Cote Rotie. It is a 2010 wine, and will remain in the barrel until the end of next year when it will be bottled and shipped to South Africa. We will then enjoy the wine with our friends.
